Thanks to all your help we now have 8 batches bubbling happily. 3 more in plans. How might we find other Mead-makers in the Nth. Illinois / Chicago area that would want to get together for a group meadery ?

Thanks for posting the link to that group. Coincidentally, just this past Saturday I was talking to a cousin who lives in Chicago and he is thinking about getting into brewing beer. I passed the link on to him. Good timing!
