Oh, post Great Taste, not World of Beer. Not from Madison either. We go on a bus, so not there the day before or after. Not sure about carry ins there.

Had the absinthe mead on tap last night. As usual, people love it or hate it. Some day I might enter it in a contest to see if the judges can come to concensus about it. :-P

I might bring it to world of beer. I don't want people to take samples and pour them out though!

"The Moth" podcast had a story from a lady who held absinthe parties that grew until tons of people she didn't know were coming.

She stopped holding them when some random girl said "Ugh! what's this crap? Do they have any Bud Light around?"

I wanted to take a little time and thank Jeff and the Beer Barons for puting on a great event. Everybody working the event was extremely friendly and that made for a wonderful environment to just enjoy the day. My wife and I had a very good time. Despite my best intentions and efforts, I did get a wee bit drunk. Luckily my lovely wife was my designated driver and took good care of me :D

While there were lots of great beers, which I enjoyed very much (I did win a taste of the Sam Adams Utopias as well), the stand out of the event for me was B Nektar's Backwoods Cyser. It really blew me away and showed me how far I have to go (and where I might be able to get to).

Im looking forward to next year already!

Thanks for making it and the good review. :) I think this fest went reasonably well. I too drank a bit more than I should have. :p

Thanks for bringing the meads too. I will PM you with what I remember about them. Many brain cells were sacrificed that day though.

Hope to see some of you at Great Taste of the Midwest! We should start a new thread for making plans to gather at some point during the event ... like maybe near White Winter or B Nektar's table.
