"Gozer the traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldranii the traveler came as a large and moving Torb! Then, during the Third Reconciliation of the last of the Meketrex supplicants, they chose a new form for him, that of a giant Sloar! Many Subs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of a Sloar that day, I can tell you."

or possibly....

"The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd carve meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it."

What type of mead was he drinking when he sat down to write that one?

How is the DVD Mynx? I purchased a rare edition of the video a couple of years ago, but that was before I knew they were going to re-release it on DVD. Any extras on the disc?

My favorite movie of all time: the original "Dawn of the Dead". It would cover the horror and comedy categories for me. Lots of fond Drive-In memories with this one.

Best Musical: "Rock & Roll High School"..... No contest.

Hey Davram...I think it's basically the video on the DVD...no extras I could find, but I'm not too fussy about that anyhow...I was just thrilled to own it, since the first time I saw it was on a 4th or 5th gen video ;)

abejita - La cité des enfants perdus - City of lost Children one of my all time favorites!!! I have the DVD.
;D

Forbidden Zone - Been a fan of Boingo back to the beginning... when they were Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo. Love Forbidden Zone... have it on DVD ;D ;D

Meet the Feebles - Prepaid $120 for it on VHS about 6 years ago, had to have it Imported from New Zealand and it took 8 months to get. Now of course I've got the DVD. I'd been a big fan of Peter ever since seeing MTF in 1990. Sought out everything he'd done before & since. When I heard he was going to do LOTR I had two thoughts... how the hell did he pull that off (and) that's going to be one twisted movie.

When I want to introduce my friends to strange films... It's always those three plus
Naked Lunch, Frankenhooker, Dead Alive and for disturbing - Dead Ringers, which Jeremy Irons
should have won an Oscar for... he plays twins that are at times only subtly different... Incredible!

Have a great day,
Pewter

My personal DVD collection is over 800 movies.:p I have (2) 400 disc changers and might get a 3rd.

In 1989 I went page by page through a Leonard Maltin (sp?) or Siskel & Ebert book of film reviews and marked every movie I had seen, then counted. By 1989 I had already seen 2600+ movies, there were others I tried looking up, but they weren't in the guide. Today I have no Idea what the total would be. Growing up... my dad's video collection was over 2100, so I had a good head start, plus 2 years in Seoul Korea didn't hurt... saw a lot of that collection I would have skipped if I hadn't been stuck there my last 2 years of high school.
It was originally going to be one per category, but when people started listing multiples... these are the films I NEVER get tired of.
