Anyone want to trade MP3's? .... Of your own music?

I do!

Other than simple youtube links....

Private messages work for distribution. I can email fresh content... nice stuff...

If any of you will return the favor....

Here's some old stuff... youtube style.

I want to share beyond youtube... I want to email mp3s and such...

And I want to receive. Dog the tracks, let me dog yours. Or compliment. Either way.

Something between fermenting honey...

I'd rather make mead...

I love great music, work in a place that brings in some of the freshest in this part of the world.

But I'd rather make mead... It has it's own symphonies, subtle notes, leads and bass lines...

Of course, I'm the weird guy that believes that the music you're playing while brewing has an effect on the final product, so I think there's a happy combination there.

Perhaps like singing to plants, you could try playing to your mead. Just add it to the brewlog :)

There are cultures that historically have used music, singing and chanting to keep bad spirits from causing the fermentation and to promote the good spririts entering the pot.

Having zero musical talent (and a tin ear to boot), I'm forced to play recorded music for them.

They seem to like Mead Me In Memphis by Jimmy Buffett, and All You Mead Is Love by the Beatles. ;D

I'm making myself feel like a newb engineer/producer/musician, but what the heck is an "empty" click? A visual only click? Sorry, just not a term I've ever heard before.

Oh, that's far less myserious than I'd expected! Don't most people practice that way fairly often? I don't any more, but back when I wanted to be a shredder I was always using my metronome to play parts incrementally faster and faster.

I like pretty loose and groovy with drums too (even in Metal), but it's amazing how many drummers today simply cannot play to a click - period. I think looseness should be a choice, not a default.;) (Obviously not the case for you!). A lot of drummers I've worked with speed up through fills dramatically... not fun.

Of course, I'm not working with studio musicians, I'm working with random bands.

Agreed. Playing live, rehearsal, it's one thing to speed up a little as the song builds, etc, that's natural. When recording, that's bad. Unless you are in a really great studio where everyone can track live together and nail it in a take. I'm blessed because I play with a drummer who will sit down, put on the headphones, and bang out track after track totally dry, just a click. That makes it so much easier for other musicians to have the drum track down, fills and everything. You can experiement with guitar sounds, dynamics, etc. This drummer is also a principle songwriter even though he can't play a 'real' instrument. He's truly a gifted individual. He can also hit a golf ball. Other than that, he isn't worth a shit.
