Actually I am only half Canadian, and I grew up all over the world :P
My mother, however, grew up on a fruit orchard in Oliver. I have been out there only a couple times as a child, but I distinctly remember arriving during cherry picking season. After a 2 week trip across the US, there is nothing like running through an orchard picking cherries off the tree! :D

Well until you find out that cacti don't only exist in the desert...

Hehehe, yeah I grew up just south of Oliver (small town called Rock Creek) ... one of my earliest memories is sitting down on a hillside, and promptly bolting back up, as I'd planted myself in a cactus bed :o

Uh oh,

A divergence of dates :o

Here's what my sources said:

Katherine Hepburn - 1907

Jack Paar - 1917

Coretta King - 1927

George Carlin - 1937

Johnny Miller - 1947 (Yup, the golfer with the bad taste in plaid trousers)

Oskaar - Wink

Yes, April babies are the best! LOL At least that's what everyone in my family told me.

Cheers,

Oskaar

Happy Birthday anyway Oskaar, since you were born in 1957... that was a very good year, from what I've heard anyway.... lol.... ;D

Happy Belated Birthday Oskaar!

Many thanks for your tremendous contributions to this site - tons of great info & posts, an excellent sense of humor, patience, a nice light touch, website moderating and management, etc. I, for one, have learned much from you & continue to do so.

So tonight my girls (one is in the avatar) & I toast you.

Cheers lad.

Oskaar,

Happy belated birthday! Sorry, but I was offline yesterday (computer problems -- still unresolved -- grrrr). Hope you had a great day!

-David

Thanks for the birthday wishes from everyone. I didn't even expect anyone to see it. You all taught me a valuable lesson!

thanks,

Oskaar

1957? Nah, you're still a young'un. Life begins after fifty. ;D

Best wishes. :)

An aside note -- Oskaar comes from a tough family line. Rumor has it that even the sharks are afraid to eat 'em. ;)
