Huckleberry mead.....Oh.My.God.
This mead is a semi-dry mead. The nose is delicate, just a hint of honey and berry. Once you taste it, tho, you will know a fine mead. This mead has a piquant taste, semi-dry, tart and sweet at the same time, with a full honey followed by huckleberry, full and rich. The finish is tart, leaving you with a rich, full taste that takes *ages* to fade.
My friend Elizabeth captured the nature of the mead by saying 'This is a good mead for people who don't like mead'. I agree completely. This mead neatly straddles the mead-wine line, and would be a great intro mead for someone who's never tried it. I would (and *did*) finish the bottle.
A fine mead, and well worth the $10 it cost me at the health food place I discovered it in. If you like semi-dry, and you like berry, you *must* try this mead.
