Hi folks.

OK, this is the Official 'I'll be there' thread for Pennsic on GM.

I'll be attending War week (second week, Aug 12-20). I camp with Shadow Legion on the Serengetti, and you'll know me as Maryam al-Zahra. My goods can be found in the merchants area with Broake & Thumb (see site ads), and you can get the herbs that will be featured in the GM online shop at Auntie Arwens.

I will be hanging out with Shadow Legion, at Wolfguaard (also on the Serengetti), and at Magnus' camp (Long Island Meadery).

If you are going, and want to connect for partying, play, talk about mead, sharing mead, etc. get up with me at gotmead@gotmead.com, and we'll plot, ok?

Vicky/Maryam - just pre-regged, and counting days until I leave......

Yay for War! I already want to be there.

Please add the Novice Mead Tasting to your busy schedule. It will be Monday afternoon of War week. I will post more but I'd like to be able to tell people that are coming that they get to meet Gotmead's Meadwench. What say m'lady?

Also add the DeLondres Bardic on Tuesday Night to sample the fine meads although you are welcome to stop by any time to share a few. I've heard rumors of 60 gallons this year...

Trimaris Royale for me. Looks like I'll be the only one of my squire brothers to make it up, so likely I'll have most of my time spoken for. Will try to make the DeLondres bardic, though, Pewter. Vicky, does the novice tasting conflict with a battle?

Regards
Michael

I don't know the battle schedule yet, I'll have more info soon, I hope. We're mercenaries, so the battles we fight depend on who's paying us, LOL. I'm the provider of sekanjabin for our fighters......next year I hope to be out there with my crossbow, but I didn't have the money to get it this year, and still have to get involved in fighter practice.....

The timing for the Novice Tasting is somewhat flexible. Not sure when the battles end. I was thinking of having it around 2 PM but could go as late as 4 PM if it would help people make it. If those of you planning on attending would let me know either here or in private emails, I'd appreciate it...

60 days 'til War!

eight days and counting....

Still gonna be in Trimaris Royale, bringing a gallon or two each of a clove and a JAO. Getting excited as this is my first Pennsic in 13 years. 121 year SCA hiatus in there killed me.

See you all there,

Maelduin

121 years? Holy Cow! LOL

I'll be with Shadow Legion in N01, nearest to the freeway. Where it Trimaris Royal?

I'll have some fortified cherry, a black-raspberry horilka, and some other yummies.

Vicky - hoping the ginger beer I'm fermenting right now turns out

Oops, that's 11 year. Musta been tipping the bottle back a little too hard. Not really sure where Trimaris Royal is, but I'm going up with our landcrat, so I'll probably get there somehow. :) Heading up on Thursday, and will be there both weeks. Hope to see you there.

"Have fun storming the castle!"

"Think we will make it?'

"It would take a miracle."

Have a good time in the Kingdom of Ducttape and go buy some of the glass bead jewelry from 'Patchwork Merchant Mercenaries' my wife 'Teren the Valkyrie' makes it and we need the cash. ;D

Have fun and remember if it looks like a snake moves like a snake and hisses like a snake it's archery practice.

Lol,
Tarot.

Alright all you lucky people who got to go to pennsics we are waiting for stories! Who got to see who? Who got who drunk on what mead?
And more to the point did, anyone talk Vicky into belly dancing around the camp fire, and are there any good pictures? :icon_pirat:

Tarot.

Hmm. Lessee. No belly dancing around the campfire, but I *did* win a titty-grabbing fight with this guy at the Wulf Den one night, then attended a naked woad party down in the swamp.....

Then there was the the Bast's Cat Wander on Friday night of War week, wending through Lost Boys' party, and on to the Ladies Only party put on by the Baroness...that night just sort of faded into oblivion after a while, LOL.

Vicky - no shit, there I was.......

well, I never made it to DeLondres, but did drink a bunch of my own stuff, as well as some by a trimarian brewer, Lady Navah. God a few thumbs up on my clove mead, one from a pretty picky brewer, Sir Wulfgang of Aethelmarc, so I was quite chuffed about that. Spent the entire first week setting up Trimaris Royal/Rolling Thunder encampment as I, my wife, our ex and her current boyfriend were the only people there for work week (aside from Ma and Pa Thunder, of course). IOW, was too bushed to party much. Did make Wolfs Den one night, and Vlad's once or twice. Then war week came along, and I think I went out all of once to Vlad's. Lots of hanging out in camp. Scored an AoA when I got home for fighting there and all the other wars.

Next year I'm bringing an indentured servant to do all the steup stuff for me, dammit. I want to get some real drinking in during work week.

Our camp was set up, as I didn't arrive until War week. But make one decent meal.......LOL

I ended up cooking lunch and dinner for the whole camp all of War week. Get up, eat breakfast, carry water for battles, shop, make lunch, shop, make dinner, party.....such a life! Got to the Men Without Pants, Wolf Den a couple times, Lost Boys, and a couple other parties, and ended up being ferried about by Bast for an evening. That woman is *tough* to keep up with!

Next year I assign help. I did get out of dishes, tho....Cook don't clean!

Vicky,

Oh hell YEAH. The way I cook the results are spectacular, but the mess is proportional. I *always* take the cook side of a cook or clean up deal. Cooking is fun, cleaning sucks.

Regardless, hope we get to meet next pennsic, if not Gulf Wars. That goes for all the SCAdians here, as well (i.e. Pewter).
