Well, what can we say? I was both close enough (I lived less than 25 miles from the venue back then) and old enough to have gone to Pennsic 1, if I'd have known it was going on at the time....
I'd heard about it in earlier years from an SCA-involved buddy of mine in college, but ironically I didn't start to attend until I'd moved from northeast Ohio to Texas!
Just a reminder that the Novice Mead, Wine, Cordial Tasting will be in my camp (X-04) at 3 PM on the Monday of War week. Bringing a bottle of your brew for others to sample is the only requirement.
Maybe next year. or the year after that. As things are now, I'm lucky if I can get away long enough to spend a few hours at Estrella. Pennsic is a bit more than a day trip.
Before I moved to Texas 10 years ago, I lived less than an hour away from Pensic. It was still far enough to pop the corks on some inexpertly bottled meads though
