I just started a version of this with the spices I would like it to have but I was wondering if anyone had seen any traditional recipes? Even better if someone knows some sources. Weird how the Poles were very good about writing crap down, the museums are full of authentic suits of armor in great shape, some of their meaderies are still producing traditional stuff but I cant find a recipe.

You should. This kingdom especially is pretty big on mead with several Laurals(big wigs that takes decades(at times) to get the award) in the Kingdom and many folks who compete in meads and period drinks. Was at an event last weekend and one of the local legends of mead brought a ginger apples(I think) mead and it was by far the smoothest mead I have ever had. My squire brother is big on Krupnikas and has started making that and competing. You would fit right in. I know there are local groups in your area, although I couldnt tell you the name. I think there is a barony somewhere in South FL.
