This thread weirdly got me to come out of lurkerville, mostly because I just finished the rough for one of my pet Projects. Anyone else a Rothefus fan?

"I took a drink from the tall tankard to give myself a chance to collect my wits, and something wonderful happened in my mouth: cool spring honey, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, pressed grape, burnt apple, sweet pear, and clear well water. That is all I have to say of metheglin. If you haven’t tried it, then I am sorry I cannot describe it properly. If you have, you don’t need me to remind you what it is like."

Did you try to (re)create the recipe?

Are we talking about Patrick Rothfuss, the author, here?

Sorry....I don't have access to the recipe posted. But yes, I'm in the middle of slogging away at creating a metheglin that matches the description. It's an apple/pear blend as a base. Just put it in the secondary yesterday! I'll post as it comes along.

There's another mead descibed in the book which "tastes like piss and costs twice as much as it should" which I accidentally recreated. The author is getting bottles of both next time I see him. ;)

Here's my labels, They are already printed, I just need to get them on a few bottles.

Alas, I downloaded Avery's DesignPro from their UK web site, and have discovered that it can't be saved in any other file format. I need to get back to the Avery thing that integrates with Microsoft Word (my really OLD version....)

Maybe I will have to take a photo of these 2 and then post that....

Nice! What other changes are you considering?
I'm thinking of adding more honeycomb and taking the sharp points of the 'M', since it's laser cut I can see the points peeling up.

Very nice! Looks like one of those cool independent California wineries put it out.
;D that is the greatest complement I could have dreamed of, THANKS... Fingers crossed on that, with any luck, by the time the FDA hands my industry over to Big Tobacco, I will own a Cool Independent California Meadery...
