Greetings all!

First let me say it is a pleasure to join you here, and I am looking forward to sharing my mead making journey with you all!
Long story short, I was gifted three 5 gal. carboys by a friend and I am ready to start a batch of mead. I am looking for a quality source of raw, unpasteurized honey online. The apiary community local to me in Jacksonville NC. are smaller operations that do not provide bulk quantities. I do not mind spending the money for high quality honey, but I am looking for recommendations from experienced mead makers to point me to a good source.

As I understand it, the honey determines the final product and I view it as an investment!;) I am specifically looking for Orange Blossom honey for one batch, and a suggestion for a honey that will make a good spiced mead, and a melomel. I think for my first batches I am going to go on the sweet side, so 15-20 lb. pails will suffice I think. Thank you all for any help you can give. I am really excited to get these carboys working!
 
Welcome to GotMead! I buy honey from several sources, most of which has to be shipped. I don't order as much now because prices have shot up. I buy a lot from Walker Honey Farm since I drive through Central Texas several times a year and I can pick it up in person and not pay shipping plus they are cheaper than some of the other places I buy from. Most of their varieties are $46/gallon. They usually have a few varieties "on tap" so you can fill your own container. I also buy wildflower honey locally and in East Texas near Nacogdoches.
