Hello, I started my first batch of mead last week. I'm still in the primary fermentation phase. The mead itself seems to be doing great, but a couple of days ago I noticed what appears to me small fibers floating on top of the mead. They appear to be from a small amount of a paper towel. I've used two different mesh strainers (Sanitized) to remove some of the fibers but very small ones remain.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a way to remove these fibers without risking too much harm to the mead?
 
You will probably contaminate it more trying to decontaminate, dont worry about it now, they should drop out in the sediment or you can easily strain it thru a stocking when you rack to your secondary. WVMJ
