Hi All,
Just a note to inform whoever is interested that I had a wine I made from asceptic juice, take a Silver Medal
in an amateur winemaking contest. The contest was held by a wine and beer making supply store in
Clifton NJ. The name of the store is Corrado's. They hold the contest in January of each year, now for 7 years, and have a fancy dinner and award ceremony. I could'nt go to the dinner, but was very surprised
to find a box on my front step one day with the Silver Medal and a Finalist Certificate which is now framed.
I thought the 2004 Chenin Blanc I made came out very well, but not as good as the 2003 . Maybe it would have won a Gold Medal. Who knows. Maybe no medal at all. The winner of best in show for the contest wins a trip for two, 4 days 3 nights I think, to California's famed wineries for wine tasting tours. Sounds good to me. I have a Cabernet that came out very good also but did'nt bottle it in time for the contest. Anyway it's
almost gone now. Oh well.
This is my 6th year making homemade wine and my first try at making Mead. I hope it comes out good.
Bill
