Is there a calculator to figure out sugar break? and how do you figure out the 2/3 and 1/3 sugar break ? example 1.140?
 
The sugar will be all gone when your specific gravity (S.G.) hits 1.000. That's a change of .140 from your original gravity. The 1/3 sugar break is when you're 1/3 of the way there and the 2/3 break is when you're 2/3 of the way there.

1/3 of .140 is about .047, so when you've lost .047 of S.G., you're at the 1/3 break. When you lose another .047, you're at the 2/3 break. Lose another .047 and you're done.

So: 1.140 (your original gravity) minus .047 is 1.093 -- that's your 1/3 sugar break.

1.093 minus .047 is 1.046 -- your 2/3 sugar break.

1.046 - .047 is .999 -- no sugar left.
