I'll be the first to say that I am intimidated by wine. I have a solid grasp on beer styles, but wine eludes me.
I have been trying to improve my wine knowledge and exposure, but it seems like the way wine is prevents me from doing so.
Let me explain.
My wife does not drink, so when I drink at home, it is without her.
This is fine for a bottle of beer, but I have experienced oxidized wine and it is not good. So, opening a bottle of wine for dinner is tough, because I am either committed to a bottle for the night, or I have to drink it soon there after, and in reality I usually only drink a couple times a week...(at least that is what I tell myself
)
Drinking wine at restaurants is expensive, but I do it from time to time.
Good wine is hard to find in small bottles.
So... I like wine but the wine industry makes it hard for me to enjoy it
Why isn't wine served on tap somewhere for a reasonable price?
Why are there not smaller bottles of wine?
Any ideas, input or insight?
