For any San Diegans who haven't tried this restaurant, go there! Besides having 3 different types of Heidrun brand mead (star thistle, orange blossom, and wildflower,) this is rated one of the best "farm to table" restaurants in America. The food was awesome! We had the Star Thistle Mead which was semi-dry, champagne-like and very perfumey. According to the bartender, this one and the Orange Blossom type were produced using the methode champenoise while the Wildflower one was bottle conditioned and left on the lees for more of an ale-like flavor. I can't wait to save up some more cash to go back and try the other types! Here's the link: http://thelinkery.com/ By the way, I am in no way affiliated with the restaurant or anyone who works there. I was just very impressed ;D

I went to get some pictures developed yesterday and found that the Linkery is moving to North Park in the near future. Around 30th and University.

Awesome...get my pictures developed and a good meal with mead all within walking distance!

smoky,

Thanks so much for the information. I had no idea that mead was served in commercial establishments. The wife loves to go out, so The Linkery it is next time.
