Weird... I wouldn't in a million years have thought alcohol evaporating through barrels could have such an effect, or for such a distance. Neato. :)

The yeast are polluting their environment! How long before their sugar fuels run out! What about the pollution from the overpopulation?! It's time to reverse Carboy Warming! The yeast have but one carboy and are destroying it!

Kind of makes me wonder what a population study around the distilleries would show. If people are breathing ethanol vapors in low levels, do they get more liver disease? Do they get more lung problems? Do they get fewer colds? Do they need fewer sleeping pills? The list of questions goes on and on and it would be interesting to learn what effects there might be. Of course, given the litigious nature of our society, I'm sure the folks at Hiram Walker would be glad to fund that kind of study. :rolleyes:
 
Definitely valid questions, another one would be how these facilities could deal with the problem, maybe airfilters on all the air that comes out of the places, etc.
