While not a commercial meadery, I do work at a retail wine/spirit store. We use FedEx to ship all over the country as well as internationally. Out of the thousands of packages we shipped last year, I think we only had one or two breakage problems when shipping to Germany.

I'm not sure on the competitive pricing of the two services, but FedEx rates seem reasonable to me.
