Okay, I bought just over a gallon of wildflower mead on eBay and it arrived yesterday. I opened it today and there's achunk of wax in it.

Is this normal? How do I get the little pieces of wax that broke off the big chunk out of the honey without pasteurizing/boiling?

By the way, the honey is absolutely delicious. I didn't know honey could taste so good.
 
It's a chic thing. If you order from them again, see if they can't leave it out. Usually they mention comb included in the ad.

If you don't want to pasteurize, I'd just fish out as much as you can, and then don't worry about the rest. You'll get rid of it in the first racking. Or you could try pouring it all through cheesecloth after mixing it with water to try to fliter it out.
