Non-Fiction: Tartine, Chad Robertson. Fiction: The Complete Stories of J.G. Ballard.

Good book. I keep his second book, Tartine Bread, on my kitchen island since I use it so much.

Just bought "Franklin Barbecue" by Aaron Franklin whose restaurant in Austin is rated as one of the best BBQ joints in Texas.

As far as fiction, nothing new at the moment. I'm rereading a few old Tom Clancy books.

Is there a source of bee venom other than the obvious? I would imagine it would be so labor intensive that the resulting product would be very expensive.

Not labor intensive at all. Get a jar of bees from your local beek, grab one with a tweezer, plunk her, butt-down, on intended site requiring therapy, et voila.

The Murder of Harriet Krohn by Karin Fossum It is a somewhat dark book, written from the perspective of the guilty party and includes this thoughts and views. He actually had no intent, but the circumstances evolved anyway.

Karen Fossom is an spellbinding author. I have read all of her books that have been translated to date (she is Norwegian and the books take place in Norway).

The Einstein Prophecy by Robert Masello Not normally what I would read (gets into supernatural and stuff, but after you have been hooked), but Amazon gave it to me for free. Overall a great read and may change my habits a bit!

Lol. Yeah I was thinking more in the "milking" sense. I can only imagine how many bees would have to be milked to make a few ml of venom!

I just went to a presentation on African American home remedies at the Destrahan plantation in New Orleans and came home with a book written by the pharmacist that made the presentation. My favorite remedy was male urine for sore throat. He says once a kid uses that remedy you will never hear another complaint about sore throat again! Lol.

Trawler by Redmond O'Hanlon....travel writing at its best. A hilarious and very scientific account of a travel writer aboard a trawler in the North Atlantic during force 8 to force 12 storms.
