Greg Fischer is the guy that got me into making mead back in 2004 when I visited his shop in Chicago looking for wine making supplies. He mentored me through the first couple batches, and we tasted some really old mead together that I got from a friend in Florida (his father had made it years before). I still try to visit there every time I visit Chicago. I also saw a review of a mead that he did at the Mazer Cup, so apparently he was a judge there this year.
