We'e actually got crabapple bushes at my parents home. My mother makes a mean crabapple jam. I would definitely be interested to see how they work in a cider as they taste a lot more bitter from what I can remember. If I was to get my own cider press and press my own apples, is there any one in-particular that can be recommended or will any old press do the job adequately? I'd want to make sure I'm getting every ounce of flavour out of the fruit. Thanks.

I've decided to just buy a cheap one I've found for £60. I'll try that and see how it is, reviews are decent. Can always upgrade if need be.
