Oskaar,

La belle dame sans merci! How medieval! I like that! I think it suits my washing machine.

Just a Yiddishe Mameh,

Miriam

I though you said youze old! 51 ain't no thang. My mom has stuff in her fridgermarator older than that!

Sounds like Mama Oskaar believes in aging her fermentables. ;D

Nice to hear there's a long family tradition of vinting, etc. ;D

And I agree, a half century isn't old, it's just starting to come into your own. I like to call it "Second Adulthood." :)

I am proficient in English and passable in German...

I use babelfish.altavista.com(sp?) for the other translations...

I suppose I could have it translate "grey haired brat from Israel" for me... ::)

With a grin,
Pewter

Better be careful Pewt' -- not all 50 year olds have grey hair! You might be inviting an indignant wrath upon yourself. :o

Just wondering -- would "Mead Yente" be a fairly close Yiddish equivalent for "Mead Wench"? (Ducks and runs) ;D ;D ;D

As for those bottles - you're wrong. There are no bottles on my back step. Because I recycle everything. ;)

Miriam,

Very true... BUT...

I saw what was sitting there before the three trucks pulled up to cart it away! ::) ::) ::)

With a wink,

Dan,

The grey hairs in this case were self-professed by the lady herself. Anyway, I count her as a friend and tease her with the same enthusiasm that I tease my other friends here. And to be honest, I am betting that she'd plotz long before I saw any wrath out of her from my teasing...

With fingers crossed, hoping that truly is the case, ::) ::) ::)

Actually I burst out laughing and my startled family is wondering what's the matter with me.

Spoiled brat from Israel? Sounds like another good nick for my washing machine.

Mead Yente indeed. If we're going to get Yiddish about this, I'll accept Mead Bubeh (grandma).

Miriam

Glad to be back. I am so hyped on the mead making, the beer brewing is now officially on the back burner. Three more meads to make for the NHC '06 I want the mead maker of the year crown. I'll just make beer occasionally for consumption (not competition) until my meads are ready ;D. And try to save some ;)
