Pretty late in the day, but there's still time to introduce myself on this thread.
I just turned 26, and I'm feeling pretty old. Not because 26 is all that far on in life, but because I'm really not sure where to go from here.
I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Currently I'm employed as a patient attendant at all the various hospitals in the region. I go where I'm needed. Most of my patients are geriatric, or have mental health problems, and it's my job to keep them from hurting themselves for the duration of a 12 hour shift. Been doing this for about a year and a half. Mostly night shifts. Pretty dull, but I get a lot of reading done.
Before that, I've done heavy industrial work in British Columbia, Daycare work in Ontario, and all sorts of random volunteer work for non-profit organizations accross eastern Canada. I've done two years towards a philosophy degree, but I didn't think that was going anywhere and quit/dropped out before finishing.
I have a thousand and one diverse and usless talents and interests. I juggle, play guitar, maintain a semi-feral clump of hop vines, know a fair bit about keeping bees (despite having no hives of my own), brew beer and mead, am doing reaseach for a book about hitch hiking and an unrelated semi-fictional work based on my family's history in agricultural New Brunswick and Maine.
I guess that's about all I have to say for myself for the moment. Don't feel I've done myself justice, but that will do for now.
