Well, this is my first time at the creation of mead. I have done some research into the brewing of mead and have decided to go with this, seemingly, simple recipe to get my feet wet in this hobby.
Date: January 02, 2007 (5:30 p.m. or so)
I followed the directions to the letter (I hope) and sanitized every piece of equipment that came into contact with the must. Once I got all of the ingredients into the one gallon glass carboy…..Yes glass carboy. I realized afterwards as I stood there admiring my, or so I thought, flawless work, that I had no way of getting this darn orange and everything else out of there!!! Which, in turn, made me blame the full moon for it's hand in the project……Then, further research, to get an idea of how what container to use in the future, revealed to me that, it is good to brew on a full moon? I then went outside and humbly appologized to that round, glowing beauty and placed that container in a warm, dark place. Well, I certainly hope it is good to brew on a full moon and it turns out ok, because I think I will be spending a good deal of time to get that orange out of there and I hope that the finished product is well worth the wait!!! Anywho, it is now the 3rd of January and the fermentation seems to have rocketed off and doing fine. I guess on week 7 I had better have a plan on how to remove what's left over in the carboy……till then people…..BREW ON!!!
