Hi all,

This will be my first attempt at mead.

I make beer and wine for a few years now and came across the BOMM recipe a while back. Unfortunately I have had difficulty sourcing some of the ingredients in Ireland. However eventually sourcing Fermaid K and using staggered nutrient editions has greatly improved the quality of my wines.
The only option I have for buying food grade potassium carbonate is off UK ebay and I would have to buy 500g minimum and pay for postage that is until I found this : https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/acid-reducing-solution-57ml-p-1364.html The ingredients say it is just potassium carbonate.

Has anyone used this before? should the dosage be the same as the powdered form; 1/6 tsp/G?

Thanks.

I tried to enhance the image to get a concentration. If I have a concentration, I can work out how much would equal the powder measure. It definitely will be different. You have 2 options:
1. Settle with potassium bicarbonate (which works just fine)
2. Buy it and tell me the concentration so I can work out the dose.

The companies web site is on the bottom of the label. I went to their website and there was even less information than on the label. They said to just add it one teaspoon at time till it tasted right.

So just email them and see what they say.

Cheers
