If you have a long thin fairly aggressive screw like a drywall screw pictured...

try screwing it in 3/4's the length of the cork then use a pair of pliers to gently work the cork out.

I got it open. I closed my eyes and used the Force. Well okay I remembered that I had a cork screw in one of the boxes that I have not unpacked. I just popped the cork out of thr Raspberry mead first. I am going to pour some in a few min.
